07/29/2010 - Sioux Falls SD - Lou Culver, advertising account executive for Midcontinent Business Solutions in Rapid City, has been awarded the distinguished Joseph L. Floyd "Helluva Salesman” award for 2009 for his selling accomplishments.
“Lou has been a steady sales performer for many years in the Rapid City market, “said Shawn Carolan, Midcontinent’s general sales manager. “He is a true selling professional who has always been willing to share his insightful perspectives. He is a well-respected, hard worker that we are very fortunate to have on our team!
“It is an honor and pleasure to work side by side with Lou in our region. He is the consummate professional and his honesty, fairness, persistence and unparalleled industry knowledge make him an unstoppable force,” said Mike Malon, Midcontinent’s regional sales manager in Rapid City.
Culver was presented with the award at the Business Solutions Sales Summit in Chamberlain on June 16th. Fellow account executive Angela Sycks, Midcontinent Business Solutions B2B - Watertown, was also presented with this year’s award.
The “Helluva Salesman” award was named in honor Joe L. Floyd, a past chairman and founding partner of Midcontinent Communications' parent company Midcontinent Media, Inc. As a driving force behind the company's incredible growth during the 1960s-1980s, Mr. Floyd was often quoted as saying, "'I’ve always thought of myself as a hell of a salesman.”
