07/29/2010 - RAPID CITY SD - Three members of the limited government group "Citizens For Liberty" held a Thursday afternoon press conference to announce their intention to reorganize the group and finish what they say was an incomplete process of legally incorporating the group.
Barb Lindberg, a local christian minister who was recently ousted from the presidency of the group by some of the sitting board members, was joined by officers Barb Landers and Tonchi Weaver in Thursday's announcement. Landers and Weaver have been members of the group since the first rally in April of 2009, and hold the secretary and treasurers posts.
A full members meeting a week ago was cancelled by the four board members, but convened anyway by Lindberg and her supporters, who say the group's members should decide the group's future.
Bob Ellis, Ed Randozzo, Zack Lautenschlager and Dawn Pence sent a press release later on Thursday denouncing Lindberg and what they say was a hasty effort to take over control of Citizens For Liberty. They call her effort to finish the incorporation process a "coup de'etat" and a power grab.
Ellis had earlier confirmed the group's plans to raise the funds to bring Fox host Glenn Beck to Rapid City for a rally, possibly this fall, depending on the fundraising effort.
